Kevin Nan | Chair, Competition & Conference
BCom, Finance 2021

Kevin is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. This past summer, Kevin worked at a property development trust, helping analyze transactions and current builds using a variety of quantitative and qualitative metrics. In the upcoming summer, Kevin will be joining KPMG's Advisory service line at their Vancouver office. His business interests primarily lie in public policy, capital markets, and the healthcare industry. 

Outside of NSCC, Kevin enjoys running, cycling, and swimming, intending to run an Olympic-length triathlon in the upcoming year. His passion for hospitality has led him to travel the world, where he hopes to visit every continent by the age of 25. A previous NSCC competitor, he looks forward to welcoming all attendees to NSCC 2018!

Asiya Merali | VP, Internal
BA, International Relations and MM, Master in Management

Asiya is a second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in International Relations with a Master of Management. As a previous Conference Associate with NSCC and her experience in executing large-scale events, Asiya is excited to utilize her skills to train and mentor this year’s Team Leads and Coordinators into leaders themselves for a successful competition and conference. 

Outside of NSCC, Asiya is an active volunteer in the local community and spends her time mentoring at-risk youth. This year, she will be assisting incoming students to integrate into the B+MM program and ensure they feel welcomed by the Sauder community as a Peer Connector. Furthermore, Asiya is a former competitive swimmer and rock climber and continues to recreationally swim; she enjoys keeping up with global affairs, hiking and skiing the beautiful mountains of British Columbia, and spending time with her friends and family.

Alexander McGuigan | Director, Case
BCom, Finance 2021

Alexander is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. During his time at Sauder, Alexander has participated in numerous events including the USC Value Investing Group stock pitch and Imprint case competitions. As a member of WestPeak Research Association, Alexander has a keen interest in capital markets and how corporate strategy impacts the way that both internal and external stakeholders view a particular business.

Outside of NSCC, Alexander enjoys playing hockey, watching soccer, and keeping up to date with the aviation industry.

Graeme Brawn | Director, Competition
BCom, Finance 2021

Graeme is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in finance. He is a Junior Research Associate for the Portfolio Management Foundation. This summer, he conducted research for a local consultancy and worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the City of Richmond.

Outside of NSCC, Graeme enjoys hiking and skiing British Columbia’s mountains, playing the piano, and listening to his favourite podcasts, Revisionist History and Capital Allocators.

Andrew Huang | Director, Conference
BCom, Business and Computer Science 2021

Andrew is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Business and Computer Science. Previously a Conference Ambassador, this is his second year with NSCC. 

Outside of NSCC, Andrew spent his summer coding small Excel scripts and other applications to optimize daily tasks. In his free time, Andrew enjoys reading Finance books, playing badminton, and spending time with friends and family.

Eric Jin Cheng | Co-Director, Marketing
BCom, Finance 2021

Eric is an second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to major in Finance and minor in Marketing. He hopes that everyone at this year's conference can make meaningful connections, contributions and experiences. Eric’s goal for this year is to build NSCC into an internationally recognized conference for its future, increasing involvements and conference size.

Apart from NSCC, Eric is an avid athlete having participated in national taekwondo, provincial tennis and is passionate about swimming. In his spare time, Eric likes to listen to music or swim! Eric is curious about mental health & first aid: he aims to amalgamate the University with stronger mental health initiatives in the future.

Annie Chen | Co-Director, Marketing
BCom, Marketing & Operations and Logistics 2021

Annie is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Marketing & Operations and Logistics. Annie’s expertise lies in her functional use of digital media and thorough understanding of case analyses, as evident in her work as the Associate Vice-President of Marketing of the Commerce Undergraduate Society and the Vice President of Cases of Sauder Summit. As a passionate problem solver and consulting enthusiast, she is very excited to bring the best conference experience for the delegates this year.

Outside of NSCC, she enjoys doing graphic design, solving cases for fun, cuddling with her cat, and socializing with new and old friends.

Sabrina Chu | Director, External Relations
BCom, Accounting 2021

Sabrina is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Accounting. She has always been interested in the world of business and looking forward to explore the different areas of business. 

Outside of NSCC, she enjoys volunteering at her community hospital and helping others. During her free time she enjoys playing sports, baking and watching various films.

Felicity Wang | Director, Finance
BCom, Finance 2021

Felicity is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. This is Felicity's first year on the NSCC organizing team as Director, Finance. 

Outside of NSCC, Felicity is currently AVP Finance for External Conferences, a Commerce Undergraduate Society service that helps subsidize conference expenses for Sauder students. She is excited to be a teaching assistant for COMM 290 (Quantitative Decision Making) this year, where she hopes to help new students succeed. In her free time, Felicity enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Parm Sidhu | Associate, Case
BCom, Finance 2021

Parm is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. He has many years of prior case competition experience and most recently placed second at the KPMG “Crack the Case” event. Parm is currently an Analyst for WestPeak Research Association, where he is building a stronger understanding of company analysis and valuation, especially after publishing a comprehensive equity research report upon his findings. Previously a nationally-ranked Olympic Weightlifter, Parm recently competed in the Canadian Junior National Championships.

Outside of NSCC, he enjoys listening to classical music, trying new cuisines, and keeping up with global affairs.

Amy Zeng | Associate, Competition
BCom, Finance 2021

Amy is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. In her work with WestPeak Research Association, Amy enjoys building financial models and writing equity research reports. She also co-chairs a non-profit organization that helps youth gain financial literacy. This past summer she worked on the Canadian Securities Course and worked as an analyst researching and writing reports on trends in the alcoholic beverages industry.

Outside of NSCC, Amy enjoys exploring local hiking trails, watching crime shows, and reading. Her favourite reads include The Essays of Warren Buffett and Financial Shenanigans.

Miguel Valarao | Associate, Competition
BCom, Business and Computer Science 2021

Miguel is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Business and Computer Science. His specific interests lie in FinTech and technology consulting. He spent a gap year working at Canalyst Financial Modeling Corporation, where he gained exposure to Canadian equities and learned more about the impact of technology on the capital markets industry.

Outside of NSCC, Miguel acts as the Director of WestPeak Research Association, a capital markets group that aims to create quality equity research while enriching the education of its members through active peer mentorship and structured training seminars. In his spare time, Miguel enjoys playing video games, dabbling in graphic design, and obsessing over the role of randomness in everyday life.

Rebecca Yan | Associate, Conference
BCom, Accounting 2021

Rebecca Yan is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Accounting. This summer, Rebecca worked at an accounting firm where she learned more about the industry and small businesses in BC. This is Rebecca’s first year with NSCC and she is looking forward to a great event!

Outside of NSCC, Rebecca enjoys volunteering with animals, running, listening to podcasts, and hiking.


Angella Sun | Associate, Conference
BCom, Accounting 2021

Angie is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in accounting. This year, it will be Angie’s utmost pleasure to serve the NSCC organization team as Associate, Conference. Currently, her interest lies in the field of Accounting and she hopes to bring her knowledge and enthusiasm to the conference. Angie is involved in the CUS Elections committee as VP External, where she works to secure sponsorships that will positively impact the student council as well as provide a beneficial learning experience for the rest of the Sauder student body.

Outside of NSCC, Angie enjoys spending time with water colour and can often be found enjoying good food with even better company.

Grace Wong | Associate, External Relations
BCom, Finance 2021

Grace is a second year Commerce student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. In the summer of 2019, she will also be completing an internship in Shanghai for her respective field. This is Grace’s first year with NSCC.

Outside of NSCC, Grace co-runs an Instagram business with over half a million followers. In her free time, she enjoys fine cuisine and exercising at the gym.

Kelly Wu | Associate, External Relations
BCom, Finance 2021

Kelly is a second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Finance. This summer, she attended a conference with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in Toronto where she learned more about capital markets. 

Outside of NSCC, Kelly is also involved in the Portfolio Management Foundation as a Junior Research Associate. During her free time, she enjoys playing badminton, volleyball, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.

Erica Chan | Associate, Marketing
BCom, Finance 2021

Erica is a second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in Accounting. This is Erica’s first year on the NSCC Organizing Team as Associate, Marketing. This past summer, Erica spent time exploring Asia and working for an interior design platform. Her tasks included conducting market research, creating proposals to improve the website, implementing new website designs, and managing the company’s social media platforms.

Outside of NSCC, she enjoys practicing photography, travelling to new places, and spending time with her family and friends.
